Discovery Bao Vinh Ancient Town

From the 17th to 19th centuries, Bao Vinh ancient town was considered the epicenter of trade in the Dang Trong area. Many Chinese businessmen came to settle here, trading local goods like salt, rice, fish sauce, and seafood. To buy and sell goods, merchant ships also arrived to this trading hub from Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, and India, as well as some European countries.

Venturing to a simpler time, enjoy a cyclo ride from your hotel to Bao Vinh Ancient town, which is located five kilometers from the center of Hue City and at the confluence of the Bach Yen and Dong Ba rivers. The charming character of Bao Vinh has been greatly influenced by French colonial architecture and on arrival, travelers will have a chance to see some of these distinct moss-covered buildings on a walk to visit the family temple.

Continue this walking tour to the bustling local market, where you can get a sense of the local lifestyle before hopping on a small ferry to cross the Perfume River. From there, a bicycle tour will weave visitors through paddy fields until they reach the destination of Thanh Tien village.

The last stop on an exciting day of touring, here visitors learn how to make paper flowers with guidance from the local craftsmen.
