Emperor Minh Mang, the second ruler of the Nguyen Dynasty, was renowned not only for his governance and territorial achievements but also for his extraordinary stamina and vitality. Historical records note that he managed state affairs all day and remained vigorous throughout the night. Remarkably, he fathered nearly 150 children,78 Princes and 64 Princesses all his own, a fact that has fueled curiosity about the source of his legendary health.

According to traditional accounts, this vitality was supported by a special royal medicinal wine: Minh Mang Thang (Medicinal liquor)– carefully crafted by imperial Pharmacist exclusively for the emperor.
